Three years ago today, I took one of the most monumental steps of my life. Three years ago today, I started a new and everlasting chapter in my life. Three years ago today, I was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
For all of you who may not know, I’m Mormon. I think I’ve been rather reserved in expressing my beliefs simply because they’re so sacred to me and people often don’t like what they don’t understand. But the happiness that fills my heart today is far too much to contain.
I can say, from the deepest parts of my heart, that I have never been happier in my life. Sure, life has had its ups and downs. If only you all knew the challenges and struggles I’ve faced…your perception might change greatly. But that’s what life is about, experiencing the bad to appreciate the good. There’s even a scripture in the Book of Mormon that states: “Adam fell that men might be; and men are that they might have joy.”
We might be different, we might disagree…but we have one common thread that proves stronger than any other difference; we are human.
It’s great to be alive! Cherish every moment. Love everyone. Be kind to your mothers. Accept others in all their flaws and be patient with them. Remember that all things come to pass in their time. Press forward and be believing.
I want to tell you all how much I love you. Because everyone deserves to be loved. And I think that’s one thing I’ve truly come to appreciate as a member of this church.
